Jean Libeert had a passion for teaching and training throughout his life. Like his father, he did not have a university education, but he spent his life studying and passing on his knowledge to his family and colleagues. He always wanted to extend this idea of transferring knowledge to others, which is how the foundation was born in 2010.
Over the years, the "Libeert Foundation" has mainly supported educational projects and associations that aid in the future of young people. In 2014 we made the decision to expand the foundation's field of action and support projects related to ecology and sustainable development. This, because as a family we are fully aware of the urgent need to aid in the ecological transition of the world.
At the same time, Libeco launched an action plan to improve the ecological performance of the company. In 2021, we made the decision to change the name of the foundation to “Libeco Foundation” and to converge two essential missions of the foundation and the company: the transmission of knowledge and the ecological transition.
