Linen fabrics for composite
The strength and light weight are the main advantages that a flax composite can offer, distinctly from the alternatives such as carbon or glass fiber. Additionally, flax absorbs vibrations well, which makes the material suitable for a range of sports equipment applications such as tennis and cycling, among others. Libeco offers a number of technical fabrics that are suitable for further processing into composite products.
Embroidery linen
Libeco has years of experience weaving linen for embroidery and needlework. Our embroidery linens are subject to additional quality controls to guarantee a consistent quantity of threads per square inch/cm². Our clothing and decorative fabrics are often used as base fabrics for both manual and machined embroidery.
Artist canvas
Linen is the best base fabric for an artist canvas. The great masters such as Monet, Van Gogh, Bruegel and Magritte knew this. But modern-day artists such as Warhol, Pollock and Dali also choose linen as the canvas for their works. The hollow flax fiber absorbs the paint very well and provides a beautiful depth of color. Libeco offers uncoated base fabrics in a range of qualities that can be further processed into artist canvasses.
